Prof. Chu Hung-Iam, the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities with representatives of units concentrating their didactic and scientific activities in the field of philological sciences, Prof. Chan Shui-duen (Department of Chinese & Bilingual Studies) and Prof. Winnie Cheng (Department of English ) and Emily Ip on 25th May 2017 paid a visit to the Jagiellonian University and met with the authorities and representatives of the Faculty of Philology.

In the meeting participated: the Dean Prof. Elżbieta Górska, the Vice-Dean Prof. Władysław Witalisz, the Director of the Institute of Oriental Studies Prof. Barbara Michalak-Pikulska and representing the growing sinological program at the Institute of Oriental Studies: Prof. Ewa Zajdler and Dr. Katarzyna Sarek.

During the meeting, a preliminary plan for future cooperation was outlined to exchange the experience of scientific employees of both units, guest lectures and student exchange. Topics related to the development of long-term cooperation and future fields of cooperation were also discussed.

The same day, the international delegation met with students of the Faculty of Philology that were interested in studying at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. The visitors presented their university, fields of study, scholarship’s opportunities and perspectives that gives studying in Hong Kong. After the meeting, students were provided with information booklets and obtained answers to questions regarding the procedures and timetable for applying to programs at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
