On May 27, 2017, the first Krakow’s edition of the Test of Chinese as a Foreign Language (TOCFL) took place at the Department of Japanology and Sinology. The test was organized by the Steering Committee for the Test Of Proficiency-Huayu (SC-TOP) and the representatives of the Education Division of Taipei Economic and Cultural Office.

Eighteen first and second year sinology students attended the exam. All attendees are the recipients of Taiwan’s government scholarship and will participate in a four-week language course at the National Chengchi University this summer.

TOCFL is Taiwan's national standardized test for Chinese language proficiency and is recognized worldwide by universities and other institutions. TOCFL corresponds to levels A1-C1 used by Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
